Thought that was the case but wondered if I'd missed it. Thought Miriam might have posted something as there are quite a few gamers on here.
Wonder if they're geared up for all the support calls when people start complaining their pings aren't as good as *they* think they should be. :)

Just read the piece on TBB. One comment harks back to the time when they tried unlimited downloads and all the freeloaders piled in - one Christmas as I recall. Hopefully their network is up to it this time, although the move to fibre should help. I note the price quoted is £61.80/month inc line rental so I would imagine only the dedicated gamers will go for it.
Good move though if it works. Made me realise I've been with them for just over 7 years.....

I was registered here on Mar 04, 2008 when my sister joined iDNet, mainly because the late and much lamented Rik, persuaded me they were better than Zen. I'd just signed for an 18 month contract with Demon at the time, so didn't join iDNet until Sept 2009.

This is the first I've heard of this. Admittedly, there probably aren't that many gamers on here, but I'd have thought anything new from IDNet would have been worth a mention. :dunno:

Wonder how many people have been with iDNet for longer than 5 years. Those of us who from time to time hang out here, probably aren't representative of most Broadband users who hop from provider to provider always looking for the cheapest deal - or 'value for money' as they call it.
It's a lucrative market so if they get a good reputation they are in the money.
There are a few british gamers and streamers that sadly tend to move out of the uk. If you are better than abt though, could be great for sales. :)

I note this doesn't appear as an upgrade option in our account summary. Is there any information as to how the games service differs from an existing iDNet FTTC package?

Um... given the problems "roberto2212" is having, I think iDNet are giving themselves a load of problems here.
I had been making inquiries about upgrading my Fibre lite package to an unlimited downloads package which would mean starting a new 12 month contract. In view of this development I think I am going to sit tight and see what effect, if any, it has. To see if bandwith gets strangled because of over use. We all know what happened last time. With less than 6 months remaining on my present contract I'm not taking any chances.

I think if you check the link at the top of this thread you should be able to get the details. Seems mainly traffic priority and direct links to some of the main game servers.
Suggested to Brian K that a post on here would be appreciated but I guess he and Miriam are too busy gaming....... ;D

I dpnt have any of his ping issues, I have still got my ECI Modem and use a Netgear X4S. MTU set to Automatic on my PS4 Pro and 1492 on my router and my iMac and my pings are about 8ms and obviously a little higher to gaming servers but nothing that gives me issues, lag between TV and console if you are a console gamer is more an issue these days with new 4K HDR TV sets. :)
