Virtually all the news outlets seem to be ignoring a major part of this story. According to Goldman Sachs the European Commission would have to approve Ofcom's plan, something it's thought they are very unlikely to do.

Not sure it all makes much difference (unless we subscribe to the popular "suspicious of everyone" mentality).

Both Ofcom and BT move slowly, give them 28 months then, the EC may not have a say.

There may come a time soon when what the European Commission says or does, is of no consequence in the UK.   ;)
