Title: ipv6 dns servers
Post by: olithered on Nov 28, 2016, 14:05:39
Are there any IDNet IPv6 DNS servers for use with a broadband setup?

As far as I can tell my router does not pick up any such configuration automatically, though it does allow them to be entered manually.

While the IPv4 servers do resolve AAAA queries, it would be interesting to see a pure IPv6 connection.

If none are advertised/available, then would you recommend a particular third party (eg: OpenDNS/HurricaneElectric)?

These are the details quoted for the Broadband package details in the user control pages:

DNS Servers:
2a02:390:1:0:7a2b:cbff:fe58:a58b

2a02:390:2:0:7a2b:cbff:fe58:bb95

I don't use IPv6 so you'll need to ask someone else for more technical info.

Thanks very much Tacitus; those indeed seem to work!

For example:
dig aaaa www.google.com -6 @2a02:390:1:0:7a2b:cbff:fe58:a58b (+short)
