No idea if it is my router or a asdl problem in the area. Keeps falling out with "Protocol Reject" errors.
Could be the router dying, could be the cable snagged (on side of house or in house). Not obvious damage, but will check swapping out internal cables/router tomorrow.
Different router (though same brand, just 1 model up), and still dropping. So it's probably noise/faulty line. Now to do the problem solving on if it is this side, or the other of the network.
Oh well. Looks like I'm going to jump in with the Engineer visit. I've swapped out everything this side (at my own expense :( ) and no improvement.
The drain/pipes at the bottom of the road flooded last week, I guess I could ask neighbours if they are also loosing internet, in case it's flooded the cabinet or something.
Seems the line is now fixed, required a lift and shift (and some soldering :P ).
However I cannot get my new TPLink Archer connected. It just fails to log in to the net at all. :( Any ideas?
New router is working now... I must have typed in that VCI setting to "38" about 10 times... but guess I was updating the VPI at the same time, and it was keeping one setting, not both. It has it all correct now (and no more drop outs/noise on the line). Phew.
I'm just replying so that you don't think you've been talking to yourself all through this thread. ;D
Well, I did wonder on Friday if that DNS DDOS had taken you all down! That and the bad weather, and everything happening on the same day is what threw me. Normally only one thing happens, and it's obvious which one took out a connection.
