hi guys an thinking of moving from nilly service sucks now and has been for a long time,and idnet has caught my eye,what like is it for gaming?.Now am not really sure which package to go for homemax or the super one,was thinking more of the super one for the faster upload speed,will this make any diff to ping times.Atm am on 8meg and 448 (Kbps.) will i see any diff at all,or would i just be better of going with the homemax one and save a tenner :P.
Welcome to the forum. :)
I'm not a gamer, but many others here are and will hopefully give you an opinion shortly. From what I have seen, though, ping times are generally good. With interleaving on, my UK pings are usually in the 21-25ms range.
SuperMax will, as you say, give you faster uploads, but it won't improve ping times. Unless you really need the extra speed upstream, I suspect you would be better on the Home Max package. Bear in mind that you can change packages free of charge as long as they are on the same underlying BT product, so switching to or from SuperMax would incur a charge.
On the other hand I have interleaving on and get pings of about 44ms. I'm no longer a gamer (when I was anything below 100ms was considered good!).
Rob.
Interleaving 'On';

HTH
;)
SuperMax should actually improve ping times because the package utilises the BT Max Premium product which enjoys high prioritisaion across BT's network over standard Max.

i have never had interleaving on never needed it allways syncs at full speed i dont need to have it on if i join? was hoping it be left as it is.am just waiting on my mac code so idnet here i come :P
You don't need to have interleaving on to join IDNet, it's just that those of us responding do happen to have it on, so we're qualifying our ping times as being 'slowed' by interleaving.
If it's any help, I don't have interleaving, and I'm on the normal, not supermax, package. Here are my pings...
