Title: can't send emails
Post by: thenorfolkoracle on May 21, 2016, 22:22:35
Hello, Just moved house and use Sky for internet, not sure if connected but since moving can receive but not send emails. Saw a bit about using new securemail.idnet.com etc, not sure if it's even that anyway, does anyone know why this is suddenly happening to my emails? Been tinkering with settings and now can't receive either, thanks. I use Windows Live Mail.

Hi, and welcome to the forum.

The general email settings are here (https://www.idnet.net/support/guides/email/settings.php), but I think if you're not using IDNet as your internet service, you will need to use authentication for outgoing emails, ie, you need to set your email client to log in (using your IDNet account details) when sending emails.

Hello, Thanks for that, that's where I started though and went from being able to receive but not send emails to not being able to do either now, I'll see what idnet come back with. Thanks.

If your email password is not complex enough that will stop the ability to send emails, check in your account settings.
