Title: PayPal>
Post by: mk1 on May 02, 2016, 18:17:59
Why is it that I cannot access paypal though my idnet connection, but it is fine via my mobile connection, currently? Anyone else having issues?

I seem to get getting a lot of ICMP_echo_req blocks on my router today to?

I wonder if some IP addresses have been blocked for some reason?

Thats what I am guessing to, but I would have though it would be an Idnet routing issue, id be surprised if paypal has block IP addresses?

Managed to find an IP address for paypal (66.211.169.3) Did a trace route, and it seems to escape IDnet tabled servers and then pings around european ones but never gets their! Leading me to suspect it must be more of an paypal issue, perhaps some DDoS is going on at the moment and they are limiting connections or something?

Would probably be worth an email to IDNet if it's not cleared up by the morning.

That seems to be the case, I can connect via the O2 phone network.

Likely to be a routing problem.

Looks like it's a problem with Idnet dns servers, I've just switched to the opendns servers and I can get on to Paypal with no problem.  :dunno:
