what does this mean while trying to post a reply

Not Acceptable

An appropriate representation of the requested resource /forums/index.php could not be found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Welcome to the Twilight Zone Baz.   :D  It may be objecting to a character such as a percentage sign or ampersand you have included.  Try taking anything like that out of the post and see what happens.

But yes, this has happened before, and we've found no real explanation for it, other than unusual characters in a post, which are more likely to occur if it was copied and pasted from somewhere.

:) :)   if only that was intentional Simon  fat fingers im afraid haha.   that could be the problem a copy and paste,  thanks. Why does it prevent that i'm sure ive been able to do that before

It's not all copy and paste.  It depends on the character encoding in the original text.
