I've been using Eset Smart Security for many years and would recommend it to anybody. One of the benefits is that you are always eligible to update to a later version during the life of your license.
So I was interested to hear of a major update from Smart Security 8 to version 9.
I have to say if anybody is tempted, like I was, to update (Version 8 to 9 signifies a major update, rather than tweaks), I'd recommend caution.
Its still a bit flakey. ESET support will not say that its still in the "beta" stage but its only available via direct download, not via their "Update Version" button.
I think they are maybe following MS's lead with W10 and refining on the hoof.
I played with it for a couple of days and support had about an hour looking at it with me and I decided it was just not ready and went back to Version 8.
So ESET users out there - I'd recommend holding off until its available through the "Check for Updates" button.
