Title: Choice of 64GB memory stick
Post by: Broadback on Jul 15, 2015, 11:33:40
Greetings,
I am looking to get a 64GB memory disk, or even larger. Having looked there is large range, but the reviews are patchy. Would some be kind enough to recommend one, and possibly a reliable source? TIA

Dunno about the stick itself but I've used http://www.mymemory.co.uk/ (http://www.mymemory.co.uk/) on a number of occasions without problems.

I've got a mix of Sandisk, Kingston and Verbatim ones and all have been fine so far.

Be aware that many of the brand names you see (eg. Kingston and Verbatim) do not make their own chips. The flash chip manufacturer in one batch of USB sticks may not be the same in their next.

Is there a good reason for buying one particular brand over another? I just get whatever is cheapest, delete the software and go. I've yet to have one fail.

At a tangent I've recently purchased an Eyefi Mobi Pro 32Gb SD card , certainly the ability to transfer photos and videos from my camera with virtually no interaction from me to my mobile devices and the laptop is very eye opening.

Indeed, have one of each brand actually.

Thanks for all the replies. I must say that over the years I have purchased 4 such devices and never had a problem. However when I came to look for one with Google I was amazed at the number of complaints, so perhaps those peeps had just been unlucky!
