I tend to have problems with the volume control on this devise. I set the volume to maximum using the rocker switch on the upper right. Unfortunately is is very easy to move the switch inadvertently, is there any way of locking the volume such that the switch does not work?
I have the same problem with my HTC One M8, and I don't think there's a solution.
Botheration! :(
Get the same problem with my Galaxy S4 as well, think you just have to live with it. >:(
I wouldn't want to recommend one in particular, but if you search for 'Volume Lock' in the Play Store, there are loads of apps which claim to solve the issue.
On the Xperia Z3 the volume control is locked , when the phone is locked and I can't find a way of altering that either. (yet) :) Although when your using a media player with a locked screen it's then available.
Not tried any of the apps mentioned but would think you probably need to root the device to make these work but rooting does void your warranty so you need to remember to remove the rooting if you need to return your phone for service BB.

Don't think so, Mitch. These are all apps from the Play Store, so rooting shouldn't be required.
A quick google suggests that Android allows adjustment of volume with thrid party apps, no need to root... but no idea if you have to use a new music app (that can lock the volume) or if it will lock it globally for you.
Thats why I wondered whether locking the volume would require rooting Ben as the other apps would just map onto the system's volume control value.
