Title: Are Voda sure signals worth investing in?
Post by: pctech on Nov 14, 2014, 20:39:18
Missed a call the other night from an agency about a job but the consultant was kind enough to drop me an e-mail and said she had tried my mobile but got no response so am giving some serious thought about switching away from GiffGaff as have also had some issues dialling out when at home.

O2's network status indicates the local mast is under extreme demand and has been in this Orange status for the past 12 months.

Get strong Voda 2G coverage but was thinking about getting a Sure Signal so that it works properly.

Anyone care to offer an opinion?

Three will loan you a Home Signal unit free for the length of you contract, http://support.three.co.uk/SRVS/CGI-BIN/WEBISAPI.DLL/,/?New,Kb=Mobile,Ts=Mobile,T=CaseDoc,Case=obj(5440)

It may be worth considering

Does the TuGo app work with GiffGaff?

Sadly no but might be an argument for moving back to O2 on a cheap sim only deal as could use the wi-fi at work too as the signal is bad there.

Forgot about that, cheers.

Other one I was looking at is Vectone as they do an app.

I have a Vodafone Sure signal and get a 100% 3G signal in my house. When I contacted Vodafone and told them I was going to leave as I required a better signal at home, they sold me one at half price.  :D

Yes, they do work. I have had one for a number of years and it gives a stable 5 bar signal in the house, whereas before it was one bar, and only sometimes at that.

Think I'm going to move over in December (have a Voda PAYG SIM in my drawer)

May convert to a contract when I finally get on the road but PAYG looks fine for the time being.

Was all ready to port over but looks like O2 have finally got their finger out and fixed the local base station so am staying put as giffgaff works for me (don't use mobile data) and I've manged to earn quite a bit from their payback scheme by frequenting the forums.
