My Netgear DG834G has just sent me the following email

UDP Packet - Source:62.210.146.101,5240 Destination:<IP ADDRESS>,5072 - [DOS]
UDP Packet - Source:62.210.146.101,5240 Destination:<IP ADDRESS>,5073 - [DOS]
UDP Packet - Source:62.210.146.101,5240 Destination:<IP ADDRESS>,5074 - [DOS]
UDP Packet - Source:62.210.146.101,5240 Destination:<IP ADDRESS>,5075 - [DOS]

I wouldn't be concerned. It's just reporting that the firewall is doing its job.

I believe you can turn off email notifications if you want to.

Thanks Lance and Simon.  I just wanted to understand what was going on.  I don't think I'll turn of the messages just yet - let's see what else pitches up.

Some netgear routers like DG834G have a tendency to show Dos attacks when its just normal internet communication, the firewalls in them are not as well written as some more expensive devises, so incoming request for connections to legit apps will show as dos attacks. Later models are more refined, as has been said I would turn off the email, most of it is the firewall doing its job, and much of it is mismatched info, you have no need to worry.

Yes saw quite a few of these on the logs when I used to use a Netgear, its just indicating its rebuffing them.
