Hello,
I damaged the antenna of my router last Sunday and the wireless signal is too weak, I had to plug my PC to a cable.
I bought a new router, the instructions are not clear: should I "remove" my old home network before creating a new one? or can I launch the setup without caring about my old home network which doesn't work anymore.
Thanks a lot for your help :)
The only things you should need to set up are your username/password to authenticate, change the route default login password, then any port forwarding if you use it. Others may have some more recommendations.
I would agree don't use any set up software log into the router directly, I tend to use the same WiFi SSID and passwords as the previous router- lazy I know but it saves a lot of time when you've multiple devices.
:iagree: I do the same as Steve. If you use address reservation set that up, if not your devices will connect as before if the details Steve mentioned have been copied to the new router.
Thanks a lot guys :)
