Title: Tired of those damp smelly odours?
Post by: zappaDPJ on Oct 30, 2013, 16:19:20
Then don't buy a Dell Latitude :P

QuoteDell users: Latitude 6430u laptops 'smell of cat urine'

A number of Dell users have complained that their Latitude 6430u Ultrabooks "smell of cat urine".

Dell engineers have ruled out biological contamination, and said the smell was not a health hazard.

The problem lay in the manufacturing process, which has now been changed, the company said.

Users affected by the issue should send their laptop back for replacement parts.

:ouch:  Mrs Clive's Dell is much better made than my Asus.  The Dell is solid with a beautiful keyboard but the Asus is cheap and nasty.

Presumably Dell will have a claws clause in their terms and conditions that you can't claim under warranty  ;D

Although I bought a new Samsung laptop a year or so ago I still prefer to use my old Dell Inspiron I bought circa 2006. Although the Samsung boots up quicker the Dell has a better display and keyboard. Also I've accumulated a lot of software on the Dell that I can't be bothered to move to the Samsung.

Well add that to my previous experience of buying a desktop from them then I think that's Dell off my notebook list.

Looking like HP, Lenovo or perhaps Scan.
