Since I installed new firefox 24 the font size on this forum is tiny. I can't seem to hit zoom to increase or derease. It's alright in internet explorer.
Have you tried adjusting the font size in the Firefox settings, Lona?
I think this will help her
It's on the View Menu, Lona, or use Control + to zoom in and Control - to zoom out.
In FF 24 Go to Tools then Options then Content gives you the option to select Font and size
This should fix all browsed fonts.
I changed the font size. Font size is fine now but the heading at the top of the forum half the bottom part is cut off. Internet Explorer is fine. I might stop using firefox as this 24 version stinks.
Which font size did you adjust, Lona? If you didn't do it this way, try resetting the main font to its original size, and adjust the 'minimum font' size up one or two steps. That should just adjust the text size, without altering much else.

Font size has been the same as it always has for me using Firefox 24 Lona, not sure what's going on your end. Have you changed the screen resolution at all?
Lona said it's fine in IE, Gary, so doesn't that suggest a Firefox setting / issue?

Firefox 24 is very stable for me and I personally have seen no issues with text, I did a bit of searching online and could not find any others complaining of this issue but you never know. Just because IE is fine it is hard to guage as a template for others whats wrong as its baked in to windows, like Safari is to OS X. If Firefox 24 was one of the programs Lona 'moved' over then reinstalled you could end up with at the worst a corrupt profile. Or its a setting change, like you mentioned. :dunno: If changing the view settings dont work I would think the profile is corrupt, following the link below to rebuild a new profile would be best.

I agree Gary, I've had no issues with FF24 either, as you say it sounds like it could be a corrupt or faulty install of FF, may be worth an uninstall and reinstall to see if that cures the problem :-\

I suggested creating a new profile , Ray. That might cure the issue. If this was caused by moving FF24 over with the program Lona used I would personally be concerned what else is corrupt, A clean install of the OS would then seem to be in order for peace of mind further down the road.
Just a suggestion, have you tried pressing CTRL + 0 in FF ?

No doubt one of the many "improvements" from the "view:zoom" option? I love all these updates. :eyebrow:
Even my non-tech loving friends have come to the conclusion the updates (of GUI etc) are pointless and horrid.

Oddly under 'view' you simply have zoom in and zoom out, in the OS X version, that's not particularly complicated and horrid ::) I can't imagine the windows version is that much different. ;)
I have used the add on Zoom Page 7.0 to control and remember font size for some time.
To tell the truth I think a windows update screwed up everything. New PC is packed up and going back to Amazon. I think I'll wait until Microsoft sorts out all the bugs. It wouldn't even let me install the software for my Ipod shuffle. downloaded latest iTunes and still didn't work. >:(
Back to my old Vista machine where everything works. :)
To be fair, Lona, I don't think you can blame Microsoft or Amazon for programs being installed incorrectly. Wasn't that the cause of the problems? ;)

I agree with you Simon but there was so many other problems, I even lost the dvd drive after a windows update and never have had anything like that before had to do a complete restore as system restore was unable to restore as it said there was a registry fault. Twice, I had to take it back to factory settings so in the end, I thought I can do without all the hassle so it's going back. I don't think there is anything wrong with the actual PC so it's not Amazon's fault. I just don't like Windows 8.
Funnily enough, I was just looking on Amazon for a cheapish Desktop for a friend, and came across this:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B005PTNV98/ref=cm_sw_r_udp_awd_y0Wssb07ZC1EA
I wonder what these are like?
My Medion has a higher spec. I think I'll wait a while until something I really want comes along.
Oh, I'm sure they're not the highest specs, but for a hindered quid, it might suit someone as a cheap option.
Had them at work for 5+ years, a very reliable machine.
So, these would be 5+ years old?
I'll not mention any names, but people are throwing out P4s right now. You can get one for free if you look for any offices who might have old stuff left in the cupboard since a vista/7 upgrade. Work threw about 5 out last month.
But as said, most new stuff is better.
Oh, and I'll chalk this up to another manufacturer/assembler not checking their hardware matches the latest OS drivers. :shake:
PS, I got given one nice P4 system for helping others with their pcs, and donated it on to a friend. Their older P4 system I refurbished and found an upgraded chip for, and sold on for a few quid. ;D
