Title: Line training and
Post by: obwan on Sep 14, 2013, 18:09:57
I think my IP Profile may be stuck, day 9-10 of line training and no movement in speeds be it up or down throughout the training period. 216 hrs connected at 8128. Figure I'm close to the exchange too.

ADSL Link    Downstream    Upstream
Connection Speed    8128 kbps    832 kbps
Line Attenuation    5.0 db    2.5 db
Noise Margin    9.7 db    11.0 db

BT speed test.
Additional Information:
Your DSL Connection Rate :8.13 Mbps(DOWN-STREAM), 0.83 Mbps(UP-STREAM)
IP Profile for your line is - 2 Mbps

so after 216hrs of 8128 sync the ip profile has never changed, I doubt i'll see a rise when the training period is up as from what i can tell its never attempted to train anything.

Thoughts and suggestions are welcome. :thumb:

I agree your profile looks to be stuck, regarding training there's none to be done really as your line is very short. I'm assuming adslmax with exchange priority. Unfortunately your stuck until Monday.

adslmax with exchange priority,

stuck with adslmax so the only thing to be happy about is a short line ::)

thanks for replies, will contact support on Monday.

should i wait another 10 days ?
support have said that BT will reset the profile and it will take 10 days more training, I've just ran a btspeed test and received the same results. Am i jumping the gun running the test tonight when i got the mail saying it was reset this morning. I thought that maybe the speed would have increased a little by now or even dropped to the lowest end of the scale and train upwards and not still be on 2mb profile. Shut the router down for 15 mins too so i could re sync and sync was at 8128 again so the line must be ok.

Your DSL Connection Rate :8.13 Mbps(DOWN-STREAM), 0.83 Mbps(UP-STREAM)
IP Profile for your line is - 2 Mbps

???

Unless your line is unstable ie frequent resyncs your profile will rise fairly quickly. I don't know what time you spoke to support but normally this is resolved within 24 hours. My guess would be that your line has not been reset yet!

Some new lines used to get stuck on the initial 2mb profile so this definitely needs a kick.
