I don't seem to be getting any mail on my idnet.com accounts, either POP3 or webmail. Last one was about 10:15 this morning, but it's only the last hour or so that I haven't received some that I know were sent.

I seem to be able to send OK.

Anyone else?

Same problem here. I know I should have mail because I'm getting notifications via Tapatalk which would normally coincide with an email being sent.

That's how I noticed- suddenly realised I wasn't getting reply notifications from tbb posts.

Can't get a reply from support, so hopefully they're busy putting a new rubber band in the server.

Got through... they've had no other calls about it but are now aware of it.

No webmail => problem with incoming server apparently.

I should have received one at about 15:30 and several within the next hour or so, and a test at 16:37 hasn't arrived yet.

Odd that nobody else reported it... but with no error message maybe they just thought that no-one was talking to them :P

I only spotted it more or less by accident, as indicated earlier :dunno:

Just rang support again for an update- nothing particular to report except that they are aware of an issue with the incoming server and it's "being investigated".

I mentioned the status page as well ;)

I've only had one down so far. My daily average is somewhat in excess of that and as none of my self tests have come through I'll take a good guess that it's not entirely fixed yet.

On another note I've also had two short power cuts today just after we've just recovered from being without water for two days due to a burst water main ::)

Another test email here arrived immediately, so who knows? Can you see anything in webmail or is it missing there too?

As for the rest- it's plainly not one of your better weekends :(

Still no mail and my webmail login, the one I've used for years, won't log me in :bawl: I think I'll just go and find a stick to play with, surely that will work?

I opened my account with IDNet on Tuesday and have still not managed to make proper use of my idnet email, either via my own client or the webmail interface. Support has been looking into it, but so far to no avail.
It seems my new mailbox has gone "dormant" and the suggestion has been to login, to ensure it stays active and permits a quota of outward-going emails. This login supposedly via the Webmail interface......which resolutely refuses to load (browser-hanging), so I can't do nowt about it.
Am having to use another smtp to send out my mail, due to ongoing 4.7.1 messages.
There has to be something up with the webmail. All my other internet connections are fine, and it's a relief to be back to a normal speed (rural, mind you), instead of the 160kbps I was getting from my last ISP.

Webmail loads fine for me, no hanging at all, what browser are you using? Have you tried clearing your cache?

Someone else had isolated mail problems fairly recently, not quite the same as this, but eventually, I believe the solution was a change of IP address, so if all else fails, that might be worth mentioning to IDNet.

They changed my IP address yesterday and after I rebooted the router I'm now completely unable to access the Internet via broadband.....I'm posting this message using a dial-up, so won't be online all day.
I use the latest Firefox and also downloaded an Opera browser to try. It shouldnt be necessary to chop and change browsers just to access a webmail box.
Anyway I'll be ringing support today because clearly something's not right. I've done all the usual stuff like clearing caches, history, etc. The router shows a clear connection up and down, but I can't see any web pages.....and this only happened after the IP address was changed. I also tried trace routes to various domain names but they all failed.
Ho well, will see what a phone-call does later on.

Are you using idnets DNS servers? Personally I don't but changing to Open DNS or Norton DNS  I'm using Firefox 23 and the webmail pages load fine as I said, maybe flushing your DNS may help  :dunno:

Open DNS : 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220

Norton DNS: 198.153.192.40 and 198.153.194.40 ( malware and scam blocking etc ) Maybe leave your router off for 30 Minutes too.

I was just offering an idea, I find IDNets DNS slow tbh but that's just me. I agree with you though, Steve. Seems to be a loy of ip swapping going on recently, well more than usual from what I remember. There should be no reason though that he cant get to the web page even before his IP was changed.  :dunno:

I agree Gary, it's not clear though what the issue is, IDNet DNS are working fine at present I've been using them solely for a while now without issue. I think currently the connection is not valid for some reason and also we have seen some IPs blacklisted by the mail server although one would think that this could be identified and removed, but as in my case a couple of years ago the solution was to change the IP address. :slap:

You would think so. So why the change from Open DNS, Steve? I'm still using Nortons connectsafe DNS for that extra layer of protection.

Fair enough  ;D I may give them a try again when I get FTTC, although Nortons are working well for me at the moment, and its nice to know they block some malware sites off the bat.

Well I didn't ring, because IDNet changed my IP address back to the original one and bingo, the Internet came back. However, the access to the webmail box remains impossible.  The last suggestion was to upgrade to the latest IE, however I'm running WinXP which I believe doesn't do IE9 or 10 (I normally use Firefox). So I've decided for the time being to be thankful that I'm back online and leave the mailbox alone until (maybe) the problem is resolved at one end or another. Changing a Windows OS just to get a new IE browser and then into a webmail box seems a bit OTT.
I am using IDNet's DNS settings, by the way and I'm rural, with a max speed of 2 megabits/second.....no hope of fancy stuff like cable in these parts.

Are you able to access your webmail via your phone? Or another option, via a Linux Live CD?

No, I have no knowledge of these methods; our household is basic in its needs and workings  :angel:  As it is, I have access to one or two other hosted email services so I can configure and use their smtp instead. It's just a bit miffy that I can't use the idnet one but it's not the end of the world.

Might be an idea to find a Windows 7 disc before next year when support for XP ends. Still though IE8 should work, even if its clunky. Firefox 23 should work fine also. I think Zap has issues with webmail for some reason if I recall correctly.

You wouldnt believe it but the webmail page actually loaded this morning....I had shifted off one or two unused Firefox plugins; maybe that did the trick. Whatever.....have to say though that support was very responsive and so I should give them top marks for that.

I do, it rejects my login details. It's done it before but I can't imagine what the problem might be. I should try logging in from another device I guess.
