Hi folks,
It seems my DSL has just gone down with similar symptoms (authentication failure) to the issues seen a couple of weeks back.
DSL remains synchronised although the Internet light has gone amber. I'm on the LLU service if that helps diagnosis.
Anyone else seeing these issues, or just me? :)
Thanks

Probably the maintenance work shown here http://www.idnetters.co.uk/forums/index.php/topic,31042.msg714252.html#new
I suppose it would have been helpful if I read that before posting :D
Thanks for the info

;D no worries.
All up again here too. Good so far, will see how things are going. Do we get geeky pictures of the new routers? ;D

50% good so far... BQM shows I had a very brief loss shortly after 3pm, IPv4 came back immediately but no sign of IPv6.
Anyone else got an IPv6 connection, or is it just me?

IPv6 is working for me

OK, ta.
I'll leave it until after 6pm (end of maintenance period) before emailing support.
Mine looks like it should be working but I've no throughput on IPv6 , here's my IPv6 system log RT N66U Merlin 3.0.0.4.372.31_0
IPv6 Connection Type: Static
WAN IPv6 Address: 2a02:390:feed:6c87:29b1:63d3:a1ad:xxxx/64

I'm on stock firmware, but my log looks OK (no error messages) and the IPv6 page looks the same as it did before but like you- no throughput.
And the tbb IPv6 Readiness Test (http://www.thinkbroadband.com/ipv6/test-ipv6.html) says No IPv6 address detected.
Same here with IPv6.
Your IPv4 address on the public Internet appears to be xx.xx.xx.xx
Your Internet Service Provider (ISP) appears to be IDNET Infinity Developments Limited
No IPv6 address detected [more info]
Good news! Your current configuration will continue to work as web sites enable IPv6. [more info]
You appear to be able to browse the IPv4 Internet only. You will not be able to reach IPv6-only sites.
Your DNS server (possibly run by your ISP) appears to have no access to the IPv6 Internet, or is not configured to use it. This may in the future restrict your ability to reach IPv6-only sites.
Your readiness score
0/10
Yup, that's what I get :(
Hopefully someone at IDNet will check in here before they all go home.

Weird thing is though, my laptop and router both have IPv6 addresses ???

I haven't checked the laptop, but yes- the iMac and the router both have IPv6 addresses. The router is a fixed IP so I'm not sure what difference that makes.
It seems as though the IDNet servers are logging me in correctly but not connecting to the outside world.
I just spotted Simon Davies over on tbb, so maybe he's having a mooch about :P
Hi All,
The maintenance is completed but I have asked them to look at the IPv6 side of things.

Thanks Brian :thumb:
I too am seeing IPv6 routing issues. Can get to Google.com over IPv6, but not Linode VPS
When I ping my home IPv6 address from UK Linode, it tries to go to the IDNet Amsterdam router, and then gets a response saying destination unreachable.
Mines ok on IPv6 now :)
Definitely looking good here:

Yep all good here now too :)
Hi All,
If you reboot and retest, this should be ok now

Its interesting to see that IPv6 is still slower though (green part), if I disable IPv6, the green line is up with the yellow line.

I can't test that here- Safari's Flash for OS X has a problem that limits single-thread downloads on either protocol (green) to about 12Mbps, and I have no intention of installing one of the browsers that doesn't (Chrome or, I think, Firefox).

it's Chrome. Oddly I never use Safari on my Mac. I just never got on with it.
I use Chrome occasionally just for the above, it seems pretty slick.
dont know if its related to the recent work but everything seems noticeably slower in loading tonight :dunno:
Haven't noticed anything slower here, possibly a little "snappier" if anything :dunno:

Not for me though :)
Most of the time both lines are pretty close for me. I know we've discussed it here before but never come up with an explanation. It's not even as if I have a high powered machine - it's a four year old laptop. Everything I found online suggested that single thread lower than multithread indicates a problem but what it might be I've no idea. :dunno:
Tested using Chrome and Win7x64.

Things seem a little snappier to me as well bill, not sure is its a placebo effect but I noticed it not long after the router dropped and reconnected.

The same thought occurred to me :P
Nothing I've tried that uses objective measurements gives any indication that it's faster, but it still feels that way so I'm not knocking it ;D

Yeah, rub it in :getout:
:P
It's still something that's bugging me, I will find the cause / reason one day.
All my tests have been Win 8 64bit - Chrome.
I will try my Win7 laptop and see if it gives different results.
My PC is quite new and fast.. so that shouldn't be an issue.
Intel Core i7-3770K 3.50GHz, 16GB 1600mhz RAM
So it shouldn't have any problems ;D
Just tried my Win 7 laptop, using chrome.

It was done by wireless.
I guess its all down to the router then ???
You could bypass the router Paul if it's not too much hassle, direct PPPoE to the OR modem
