Title: BT HomeHub4
Post by: Tacitus on Jun 15, 2013, 16:30:59
Anybody know any details about the new BT Homehub 4?  BTs pages don't really tell you much other than 'it's very good"

Are they hackable for use with iDNet?  Gigabit ethernet?  Broadcom/AR7 or whatever?

I think the later firmwares of HH3 are locked to BT. Looking at the spec it's ok for Wifi but why only one Gigabit LAN port?

Thanks Steve.  I notice that it has a Lantiq ARX368 chipset.  Never heard of Lantiq, but I wonder if it's a variant of the old TI  AR7 series?  A quick Google places them as a fabless semiconductor company, probably German but with branches worldwide.  I think TI sold their designs to Connexant so maybe they are doing an ARM type deal by licensing the instruction set.  :dunno:

Yes one Gigabit LAN port does look a bit pathetic.
