Title: Battery power icon gone AWOL
Post by: Clive on Apr 16, 2013, 17:03:57
I've mislaid the battery power icon on my Asus laptop running Windows 7.  The machine is just 5 months old which is hardly long enough for me to break it so I'm hoping someone .might give me a clue where to look.  I've already googled the problem and the standard answer is to right click the taskbar, click on properties then notifications.  I can then use the drop down menu to tell Windows to display the power icon and any relevant notifications.  The  problem is that it's not there either!  Any help will be much appreciated.

Sounds like the battery monitor may not be running.  In XP, you could go into Control Panel > Administrative tools and services, and see if things are running.  Is there something similar in Win 7?
