...and at Pipex I had consistently 1.7 Mbps.
And now I have 1.1 Mbps on HomeMAX......
2 km from exchange.
Statistics Downstream Upstream
Line Rate 8128 Kbps 448 Kbps
Noise Margin 5.1 dB 20.0 dB
Line Attenuation 27.5 dB 19.0 dB
Output Power 19.7 dBm 11.9 dBm
It certainly should not be any worse.
Hmmm.

First off....Welcome aboard ! We think you've made a good choice !
Secondly...it's early days for your new connection. While I'd hesitate to suggest you need to undergo the 10 day training period again I believe it's been confirmed elsewhere that migration from one Max provision to another can kick it off again.
It's a pain I know but hang in there...keep an eye on it and if in a few days it's still not showing any signs of recovering (or improving of course !) take advantage of IDNet's first-rate customer service. You won't be disappointed.

Thanks for reply....
I have not migrated from a MAX service, just a 2 Mbit one.....and what's this trainign malarky all about ?

Here's (http://tinyurl.com/r6xhx) a good post about it

if u cba to look at that basically wait 10 days (of usual slow downs and connection drops) and after 10 days your top speed will be revealed to you 8) mine is 8mbps but i still get around 4mbps due to congestion :-\

*note: thats congestion due to his exchange, not IDnet*
:)
stupid bt >:(
Welcome to IDNet pn :)
I take it we are on about throughput here as your linestats are perfect :)
What is the current VP congestion status of your exchange m8?
Try:

http://usertools.plus.net/exchanges/
Have you ever performed a BT Speedtest? This test disconnects you from IDNet and directly to BT. Basically, if you`re throughput is the same, fault is exchange congestion.
I`m pretty sure that your low throughput is due to BT training your line to determine what your Minimum Sync Rate is ;)
Thanks for info....so will I only know my best speed once training has finished ???
