Title: Slower Speeds.
Post by: psp83 on Jan 12, 2013, 22:34:44
Anyone else getting slower speeds today / tonight?

I normally get around 60 Mbps, but lucky to get 30 Mbps tonight  :-\

Just noticed, QoS was enabled on my 7800n for some reason...

Any ideas why that automatically halves the connection speed ? turned it off and speeds are around normal now.

The 7800 has a reputation for using a processor which only just about has enough grunt to handle an 80Mbps connection, if that's true then adding extra work via QoS sure isn't going to make it faster!

I was slightly puzzled by the fact Paul that you said it was enabled, I thought you had to a add a QoS profile to enable it or am I missing something?

Sounds like a CPU issue to me.

You need an active profile for to be enabled but it said " Upstream (LAN to WAN) : 50%     Downstream (WAN to LAN) : 50% " at the top, so I added a profile and removed it and came back to 100% / 100% and got my 60 Mbps back..

Think something is up with my router as it slow at loading some areas of the control panel as well.
