I wonder how it will fare, they're very late to market. For that matter, how long till Apple sue?

Good.  How ridiculous, suing because another device is "square with rounded corners".  What other bloody shape is it supposed to be?  ::)

Apple and Microsoft apparently have a licensing deal, so hopefully no court cases   :fingers:

Apple and Microsoft have been sharing patents for ages now, that's why Apple hasn't gone after MS yet or vice versa

Yep. Unlike Samsung, if Apple chased MS, they'd drop the book, shelf, library and school building on them.
While the MS patents might not be worth much, they probably have more to fight with. It's just sad to see any company go around chasing patents. Imagine how well IDNet would do if BT had chased for their patent on "a reference (link) to a specific document"?

I really think they've dropped the ball on this. They've invested heavily in Windows 8 and this surface was a part of that plan. Now it comes out with the same cr*p tiny storage space and at a similar price as ipads. This price announcement has undoubtedly sent thousands of people, like photographers, running to purchase a laptop. Really seems like their agreement with apple is to have a system so similar people won't bother with it.

Absolutely baffled at the decision making here.

Hmm, so 20gb after installs forcing you to buy memory cards straight away. Everyone seems to be in the peripheral market these days, ripping you off every way they can. I have to say, I didn't expect M$ to do this.

Or maybe they're putting off the purchases because it's poo and are actually sticking with windows 7 :D

It looks quite nice. But reviews currently say it has trouble keeping up with typing speed. So all along iOS was hiding it's slow CPU by making touch screen typing slow!  ;)
