Title: Am I on ADSL2+? Possibly a stupid question.
Post by: Wooloff on Sep 16, 2012, 05:38:34
I've been with IDNet for over 6 years now and a couple of year back I filled in a form to upgrade to ADSL2+

After the order I got en email with a date that the upgrade would go through on. The date came and sure enough I check my speeds and they had risen from around high 7mbs to nearly 10mbs.

I was happy with the speed increase and assumed that's the most I could get in this area.

I've just logged on to the IDNet website for the first time since I upgraded to check my download allowance for this month, as I will be needing to download a couple of rather large files over the next few days. I noticed there was a message telling me that an upgrade to ADSL2+ up to 24mbs is available on my line, I thought that was what I was on already, I checked my package and it's showing mine as Package: Home Pro LLU.

Is this package ADSL2+? or has something gone wrong along the line?

Thanks for any help.

The download speeds indicate adsl2+, your package Home Pro LLU suggests that you've been routed via Be* /O2 from your local exchange to IDNet. IDNet transferred some adsl2+ customers to Be* LLU some time ago (this was obviously dependent on local exchange availability) and provided your download speeds are ok and the connection is stable I would suggest all is well.
