Market forces, the other big players are raising their prices. BT retail revenues are down, so they can raise their prices and still compete . Not forgetting they've got the Premier League football to pay for. I've not heard anything from BT wholesale which would of course potentially affect IDNet broadband and phone.

Why on earth do they all think that everyone wants to watch the PL?

Me, I love it when England have an International weekend, not because I want to watch them(I don't) it just means that the Beeb have to report on something that is not the PL. I'm also moderating my language here, I could get very out of order about this

It's a bit like the Premier League , the big boys want all the cash and sod the grass roots. The effect on the national team will be similar to English football- poor national team , top teams full of foreign mercenaries , very limited youth prospects.

Exactly. Plus relatively limited access for TV viewers as they have the Heineken and World Cup too.

The best way to compete is when a rival increase their price then you lower yours or offer more for the same price, that is basic economics; something modern business managers know nothing about anymore.  Their ideology is if one puts up their prices then they have to follow to "compete".  ::)

Hope IDNet don't jump on the bandwagon
