It could be very useful in a corporate setting with virtualized desktops, running everything off the network with no local storage at all. A bit like Unix and friends have been able to do for more than two decades... ;)
When I started at secondary school they had diskless PCs, running Win 3.1 via a remote boot ROM.
Took ages to log on.
But then again they were 386s.
When I was at school our computers were cpu-less, hard-drive less, no keyboard and no monitor. They consisted of log tables , slide rules , paper, pen and brain. ;D They wer networked by our teachers. ::)
You're going to tell me you had to use common sense next. ;)
