Title: POP or IMAP Mail - for multiple Apple Devices?
Post by: Ardua on Aug 25, 2012, 09:31:56
I would be interested to know whether people feel that IMAP or POP e-mail is better when accessing mail on a number of Mac devices? Currently, we have 3 devices (IMac, IPad and IPhone) connected to the same e-mail accounts. We are using POP and I am usually the one left to delete all the unwanted e-mails. This can get a bit tedious.

I use IMAP on my four devices (iMac,MacBook,iPad,iPhone) and it works well.

I use imap for everything too. If you don't host your own server, probably best to use pop on the main machine to keep a secure download of the messages.

I use IMAP on all my portable devices, and POP on my main machine.

Thanks everyone. I will probably try the 'mix and match' solution.
