I was wondering about any noticed effects on IDNet's service due to the Olympics. I monitor my connection daily with JDast - usually utterly and boringly consistent. Today though speeds remained unaltered on my FTTC service jitter rose dramatically from 0 or 1 to 8, small couple of percent packet loss noticed for the first time, and latency jumped from 15/16 to 27. An Olympic effect? Anyone else noticed anything? On the other hand TBQM graph shows nowt different - so! (The weather too has behaved itself for a change!).
The decent ISPs such as Zen and IDNet have no doubt added extra capacity to cope so I suspect it'll be BT.
BT is fine.
BE, Demon, Eclipse, Mistral, Vodafone, and Newnet are exhibiting issues.
allow me to qualify my comments, it could be at the exchange level.
Its the same on Virgin fibre network
So it looks like the olympics are starting to have an effect

I think you've also got a lot of people working from home this fortnight. I think I heard that the road traffic wasn't as bad as expected today.

Probably because they've given up trying to get to work!
It does seem that the roads in and around London are running very smoothly which is not what I expected at all.
My IDNet FTTC connection is also running very smoothly :thumb:
I think it was a little evident this afternoon on my BQM:

Didn't notice any speed problems.
Yeah, the staff BQMs are showing the same. Throughput seems good though :)
