I've ordered my new system today and specced it with a Blu Ray writer so I can make backups without having to use shedloads of DVD-R disks.
Question is, can I store the backups in ordinary CD jewel cases or should they be stored in DVD type cases as the coating does not react well to light?
Not heard that one. What about a normal case, kept out of the light? :dunno:
Not experienced with Blu ray disks so that's why I was asking.
Amazon sell blu-ray cases, tbh if they are not in the light its not going to hurt, after all they are face down.
Looks like jewel cases will be fine
I keep all my archived discs (CDs, DVDs and now BluRays) in big CD wallet type things (e.g. this one (http://www.ebuyer.com/372107-fellowes-128-capacity-cd-wallet-black-85334-44)) - takes up far less space for a large collection than any sort of individual cases and still keeps them safe and out of the light.
Thanks for all the replies folks, I understand no special handling over and above CD/DVDs is required.
