Title: 1and1 services
Post by: psp83 on Jun 22, 2007, 14:55:57
Anyone having trouble with 1and1 webservices today? we host quite alot of sites with them and can't get access to the control panel and been getting problems with sites not responding, it seems to be a rolling problem, as sites that wasnt affected are now having trouble.

Regards,
Paul

Don't know if it's related to the following article (http://www.theregister.co.uk/2007/06/18/hijacked_sites_install_malware/)

I'm not saying that 1and1 have been affected but perhaps they are taking measures to ensure they are not (I am not a 1and1 customer).

Over the last few days I've been getting quite a few Virus Found alerts from Nod32 when visiting previously safe (and bookmarked) sites using Firefox.

example:

22/06/2007 10:39:09 - IMON - Internet monitor Program Virus Alert  triggered on XXXXXXX:  http://[removed]/check/n404-3.php infected with JS/TrojanDownloader.Psyme.DH trojan.

22/06/2007 10:39:11 - IMON - Internet monitor Program Virus Alert  triggered on XXXXXXX:  http://[removed]/check/n404-4.php infected with Win32/Exploit.MS06-006 trojan.

22/06/2007 10:39:12 - IMON - Internet monitor Program Virus Alert  triggered on XXXXXXX:  http://[removed]/check/n404-6.php infected with JS/Exploit.CVE-2006-1359 trojan.

Not nice :( but on the plus side Nod32 seems to be doing it's job. :)

Rob.

Seems to be a BIG problem..........so be warned and make sure you have good antiviurus running.

I visited the PCBSD site yesterday and at each page NOD32 went off with warnings of multiple infections.

Several major hosting companies went off line yesterday/today in the states as they were hit by this AND DNS attacks.

The Nationwide online banking site went down this morning, whether it's related or purely a hardware failure I don't know, but it took several hours to resolve...

We lost access to one site on 1and1 around 2pm, MySQL server refused all connections.. Then lost access to the control panel about 2:30pm.. After that, most of our sites was not responding to requests.. Everything came back up around 5pm.

I know 1and1 are known for DoS attacks.. so maybe that was the cause.. all i know is that it stopped me meeting my deadline :(

It's not helpful, is it. I got a reply to my email to support telling me that they knew the site was down. That was really helpful!!!
