Title: SNR increased after faulty filter
Post by: foreversummer on Jun 09, 2012, 08:47:08
Hi Guys

A couple of weeks ago I had a faulty filter and this caused several disconnections in a short space of time.  I replaced the filter and all is good except that BT have increased my SNR to 12 db when it is normally 6 db and I have lost a good 2 meg in speed.  The router has now been connected for nine days but still no change.

What I don't understand is, do I have to do anything like reboot the router or will it go back to normal on its own?

Hopefully back to normal on it's own, it used to be 14 days on adslmax of a continuous  connection.

I have found I always have to reboot my router to see a drop in the target noise margin.

I know that support used to be able to request BT to reset it if it was increased due to a fault. Not sure if they still have that ability though.

Thank you all.  I'll wait a bit longer then and if I go past fourteen days or so I'll reboot it.
