Title: Can't seem to access mail through Thunderbird.
Post by: Technical Ben on Mar 26, 2012, 16:54:06
No idea what I'm doing wrong. :(

Tried just about everything from pop3 to "mail.idnet.com". Passwords encrypted to no encryption. The test mails are sitting there in the webmail viewer, so I know they exist. But I get nothing from Thunderbird when trying to receive. Still get my mail from the other accounts though.

This has come up several times in the past, I think the answer is to remove T'bird and then re-install and configure the email manually.

Eeeks. Ok. I just need to figure out how to backup my emails. :(
I'd swap for another client. But don't know of any that are free. :/

Got it sorted, seems to be a mixture of it only working on pop3.mail.idnet and Mozilla messing up the account name (somehow had [names@idnet.idnet] >:( ).
To add to that, it decided not to receive the emails when I clicked "send and receive" but instead wait for me to click each account separately. I love things being "automatic".  :slap:

There is a check box in Server settings. 'Advanced settings', for each account, to select whether it is included in the overall send/receive.
