Title: A Not Often Mentioned Secondary Benefit of FTT*
Post by: Ardua on Mar 17, 2012, 16:54:33
In the exchange area adjacent to mine (Worcester), mindless thieves stole 350 Metres of underground copper telephone cable which resulted 200+ customers losing their phone and broadband connections. This theft reads like the 'Italian Job' as the crime took place on a busy roundabout adjacent to the M5. It would seem from the local rag that they came back and had a second go.

And the point of this post is...........

The only customers in the area that maintained a broadband connection were those on FTT*.

It's disappointing that neither the Police and (more importantly) Openreach could be bothered to retrieve the discarded cable. The cost of which is passed on to me the customer.

Presumably, that's why OR can't be bothered.  ::)
