Title: Idnet username for IOS
Post by: Stu on Mar 10, 2012, 12:46:03
Hi, I still use an idnet email address but am not with idnet anymore.
I'm trying to set it up on an ipad. It is asking for username and password, however I can't remember our IDNet username and when I use the 'forgotten username' link on the website it says my phone number is recognised.

Does anyone know how I can setup this IOS email?

Thanks
Stu

Not quite clear to me where your getting stuck, anyways for email POP/IMAP settings username = email address , password = email account password and same for the smtp server. You don't need your old customer portal log in settings unless you've forgotten the above.

Sorry if I've misunderstood, but unless this is a paid for email account, can you still use it, not being an IDNet customer?

Simon even though I left Idnet some 6 weeks ago I can still access my Idnet email account.

I know they stay live for awhile but not sure how long. Griff do you still have IDNet smtp access as well.

No idea Steve sorry. I only ever used my Idnet email via webmail.

Given that the free email service is included with Broadband packages, I'd be surprised if it continued indefinitely once a customer moves away, but I don't know for sure.  We could ask...
