I was due to have my FTTC installed today.
OR guy came at about 9am ish, he then had trouble finding my line at the cab where FTTC was commissioned on (by the school on the green)
He then traced the line to the cab around by the pub in the other direction to the commissioned cab.
My line is a pain in the arse as he said as it goes through 2 cabs (to one by the pub then to the one on the green). Now I have to wait for another install date on the right cab, but he said it means I will get the full connection speeds ;D
You can get a pint at the same time  :thumb:
I'd have a chat with IDNet to see if they can get the install charge back for you being inconveneinced.
You'd think BT would know where their lines ran, wouldn't you? :shake:
Yep you would.
BT have contacted IDnet and I've got a new date of 25th Jan now.
I knew the line was messed up though and went well out the way, I guess BT has to do some work on re routing the line before they get FTTC active on my line.
Burns' Night, Paul. Give the engineer a haggis. ;)

I think IDnet could get blood out a stone quicker. BT won't drop the charge so there's no point in asking.
You didn't expect everything to go according to plan now did you Paul?! :P

When BT are involved, expecting ANYTHING to go to plan is optimistic, never mind EVERYTHING ;D ;D
Well BT might be doing work between exchange and cab for my line before 25th according to IDnet.. So, I expect to be without a phone line for a while soon
No idea what they have to do though...... :-\

I think I'd want to give someone at BT a Chinese burn.
A hot Huawei modem? ;)

A hot Huawei modem? ;)
That would probably do it.
Still waiting for my FTTC, 3 appointments so far and nothing.. Going around in circles.
Really annoyed with BT & getting pissed off with it all at the mo.
Paul, ring support before they go home at 6.30, they can check with BT for you.
Support is already on it.
BT cancelled the appointment yesterday at 4:30am and didn't tell anyone so support got BT OR to come out today, but they commissioned fibre on the same cab as the first time and my line is not connected to that cab as BT themselves re routed it in the last 2 weeks to the fibre box closer to me as my line was going through 2 cabs.
Now they've put the date back to 9th February and saying they have to re route my line again, support has told them that's it already been done, even the OR guy that was here this morning said it was re routed as he was on the phone (speaker phone) to his office.
Hopefully support will get back to me tomorrow with an earlier date. I put this order in on the 4th Jan and was originally meant to be installed on the 11th Jan :-\
:shake: They took 2 attempts to install my connection last year, it seems things are getting worse rather than better.
I personally think BT don't know what they are doing.
I'm not expecting it to be installed next time they come out either, it be some other cock up!
Can't believe they charged me £96 to install this.........

Haha good one :D
Got to feel sorry for the OR engineers, working for such incompetent management.

Ah, but according to their ISO9001 certification, they don't keep records like that... because if they did, they'd have to be right, so they don't.

Place a cola machine or coffee machine (pound fed ;) ) outside and you'll soon make the money back with enough visits. A burger and bacon bap stall and you'll be in profit in just a day!
Not sure whether this has any bearing but BT are replacing the FTTC modems

I'm surprised anyone uses ISO standard. My god it's hard to get those things. I remember working in my last job, and despite everything being perfect, and all of us working around the clock to be compliant we still didn't get it! Made me wonder if you have to go down on someone to get it :D
