I have looked at the boards in the typical David fashion now I will be taking this up and I am staying with IDnet
I understand my router may have to be replace although not sure Netgear DGN 1500 which is not old but wont do the wireless so will get a new one
I think I understand this to some degree I can see the cabiner from my home so I am about 60 ft away my estimated speed is I think 30Mb down so I hope I will get somewhere near that although I am no longer obcessed with speed
At moment on LLU here and oddly my speed dropped but its not an issue at all Im happy with my 4 Mb
I understand that FTTC is a different ballgame and that a box needs to be fitted inside ? I assume a router will plug into this ?
Will the line be more stable once this is in and installed ?
Im sure a lot of if not all these points have been asked but forgive me if I am duplicating
Many thanks
Is it easy to set up is the question which I forgot
BT connect you to the FTTC cabinet, then install a modem for you. You then need a router, not the router/modem we are used to using, to take things on from there. The service seems to have stabilised, for the most part, after early teething troubles. :)
:thnks: Will check out when the time comes new router thanks RIk
