Title: More updates on FTTC 80/20 product
Post by: .Griff. on Oct 21, 2011, 17:23:36
http://www.openreach.co.uk/orpg/home/updates/briefings/super-fastfibreaccessbriefings/super-fastfibreaccessbriefingsarticles/nga03211.do

Part of which states -

QuoteCP trial/pilot of the 80/20 product.
January 2012-March 2012 will be the timeline for CP trials/pilots of the 80/20 product
In support of trial activity, from Monday 21 November 2011, following deployment of EMP Release 1800, the 80/20 product will only be available on lines on which eMLC estimates a downstream speed of 15Mbit/s or more and an upstream speed of 5Mbit/s or more.
CPs must be registered triallists in order to successfully place orders with Openreach for 80/20 products during this period.

Will Idnet be taking part in these trials at all?

I don't know, Griff, but given the way my date keeps slipping, I doubt I will be.

Maybe they ought to figure out why they have these node outages before they consider adding more strain onto their network?

Come on, Mitch. BT can barely operate the system, let alone understand it. ;)

I hope IDNet do take part in the trial, I'd be up for it.
