Title: Switched to LLU?
Post by: jezuk1 on Oct 17, 2011, 14:26:05
Hi all

I notice my router resync'd this morning and the Annex M has dropped off, it's back to normal ADSL2+ mode. The DSLAM vendor has also changed (appears to be Broadcom - very good as this matches the chipset in my router) and I've gained about 1600kbps on the downstream channel and lost roughly 300kbps on the upstream channel (overall that's a good result) although it's running in interleaved mode instead of Fast with a relatively high depth of 160 on the downstream and 1 (Fast) mode on the upsteam channel. Latency is roughly 7ms lower than I've seen before while the connection has been interleaved. I'm also seeing downloads about 3Mbps faster than they were yesterday.  :thumb:  (less restrictive IP profile?)

Retrain Reason: 8000
Path:   0, Upstream rate = 1278 Kbps, Downstream rate = 16873 Kbps

ChipSet Vendor Id:      BDCM:0x918f
ChipSet VersionNumber:  0x918f

Question is have I been switched to LLU? I suspect I have, although I didn't request it so that's why I'm asking. (as long as the connection continues to behave like this I am quite happy!)

The vendor ID confirms you've been switched to Be/O2.

(less restrictive IP profile?)

IP Profiles don't exist on LLU.

Hi Jez, would you like Annexe-M re-applied?

Hi Simon

Well I'm actually quite happy to leave it off at the moment because the upsteam sync speed of 1278 is good enough (much better than the 480 i was getting at times on BTw before the annex M was applied)  :)

One issue i've noticed - IPv6 has stopped working since this morning. I'm no longer being allocated an IPv6 address according to the router information.

OK, I'll look into that.
