Surely a bit of non-news being reported by El Reg?

Does anybody in the world care if google couldn't be bothered to splash some cash on a short domain? It's a bit different when it comes to being outbid on patent portfolios.

Sorry I should have stated the reason I linked was because I was astonished that a domain went for 76k.
