Hi All
scratching my head over this one as it only affects one POP3 account although there are two in the same PST file and with the same provider.
I've raised a ticket with network solutions but was wondering if anyone had any ideas as I've tried deleting and recreating the profile to no avail.
I can't unfortunately delete and recreate the account server side because the box is purchased as a specific product.
I could only Google the error, which you would have already done, Mitch. :dunno:
Have you read this, Mitch?

I've not seen that particular link Rik but put Prevx into Install mode to temporarily disable the protection but its not made any difference.
I suppose I'll have to try a safe mode boot so its not load at all and see what happens.
No joy.
Even with no other services running its still screwing up, I will probably pull out the DVD and run a detect and repair but had intend to format and reinstall Windows this week anyway so might just back stuff up and do that.
Sounds like a plan, Mitch.
Another reason for stuff not to be cloud based.
I hate clouds, perhaps, more accurately, I don't trust them.
Having supported servers I don't really either.
I'll pay to have my e-mail hosted but thats about as far as I want to go.
Same here, Mitch. I prefer to control things myself...
Well have migrated my mail to a new provider and what do you know, the problem has disappeared which does lead me to think there was a server side issue.
0 points to Network Solutions for their technical support.
Norwegian, are they, Mitch? ;D
;D
Company I'm now using is based on the Isle of Man.
Sue will thank you for that. :)
;D
I think it makes sense to support businesses in the British Isles in these times and I can't argue with mail hosting for a tenner per year.
1and1 were ok but had a couple of billing issues and unfortunately they aren't the easiest company to deal with by phone.
Their call centre is in the Philippines.
Probably why there was a bit of a communication barrier then.
Shall we say it was 'unusual' English.
indeed yes, read from a script.
To be fair to 1&1, I've only needed to contact support once in four years.
Indeed, same for me, only had to ring them to sort out a refund for some hosting I'd ordered for a project I've now put on hold while I clarify the bizarre new cookie regulations.
