Title: flapping connections in MK, anyone else?
Post by: pctech on Sep 18, 2011, 18:51:19
Anyone else in MK having flapping connections recently or losing PPP?

Particularly interested if you are on the Bradwell Abbey exchange.

Trying to determine whether its an exchange wide fault before I go to my ISP.

Rik didn't say anything before he went at about 6:45pm.

I'll check my router and have a chat with Zen.

Both lines are fine, Mitch.

Only change I've made to the router was to enable the Wi-Fi access point on Saturday so I could link the Desire to it.

Was a bit flappy last week though too.

Will go through the troubleshooting and replace the cable between router and filter with a twisted pair one.

I noticed there been an openreach van at a house two doors away for past couple of days and the guy had the manhole up at the end of our drive so think the guy is having FTTP installed, wonder if they've disturbed the copper.

They certainly did here, Mitch, when they were working on the FTTC cabinet - both my lines dropped briefly (I assume they have to transfer all the lines from the old to the new cabinet?).
