Sometime ago I posted on here for help with accessing CCTV installations using IE9. I was able to achieve it with IE8 and also some other browsers but not IE9. Over the last few weeks I have been unable to download and run a certificate from the alarm receiving centre that I use for a program called Netport. I tried on both my desktop and laptop to no avail, so in the end I decided that their had to be a common denominator (Virus software, router, ISP). I uninstalled Norton 360 and installed Avira on my laptop and low and behold I could down load and run the certificate. I then tried to view the CCTV and all was well and I could view the cameras in IE9. I have now removed Norton from the desktop and followed the same procedure, can view the cameras but not download the certificate yet, but I will. :fingers:
I've not been a fan of Norton for many years, Den. Shame, in the days of DOS, they were indispensable. We're having problems with the forum and IE9, so you're not alone.

Yep Norton causes a lot of problems with the software I support as it seems a bit paranoid.
I use Prevx on my desktop but as its effectively server based probsbly no good for laptops unless you are constantly online
I wonder if this could be related to the forum spell checker problem? Does the spell checker work from the Quick Reply box for you, Den?
Yes, no problem with IE9 at all, all my problems were Norton ;D
This, along with immense system hogging was one of the reasons I stopped using Norton years ago. It doesn't tell you it's blocking something, but the way it works stops things from working at all, silently. It's really annoying!
They probably work on the philosophy of 'what you don't know about you won't miss' except when iit breaks an application or web app.
