Title: Routerstats
Post by: Niall on Sep 01, 2011, 10:27:00
I forgot to mention this before, so here we are :)

Does anyone know how to get (or even if you can) routerstats (full version) working with the Billion 7800N? I can get the lite version running, but when I set up the full version it wouldn't register anything the router was doing, which baffled me.

Is it just configured wrong, or doesn't it work?

I've not got access to a Windows PC at present but it 'may' work now.

'Some Broadcom routers display their Telnet data slightly differently preventing RouterStats from
displaying the Connection Speed and Max Sync Rate correctly in the Telnet Summary Window.
Added a checkbox to the Configure Telnet -> Experimental Page to allow RouterStats to work
          with the alternative display format.

If you get stuck I'll try later.

I couldn't get it working at all. Under telnet, when I FINALLY got it to do something, it just had a blank page, and the monitoring page just shows a speed of 0.

Ah well, it's not important, just thought it would be nice to see exactly what is going on, on my line.

It does work Niall, this is the relevant post. http://vwlowen.m3ezw.co.uk/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=318

You need to setup as below and use the text search option with input A , highlight the relevant figures for sync and noise and it seems to work ok for me. Telnet is also working.

For the router search text:

Use this URL for the stats page (or whatever ip address for the router)
http://192.168.1.254/status/adslstatus.html

Tick Use source A, get the page and mark the stats that you want

Telnet:

login set to admin and password - cannot see an option to use a different password ?

Change telnet prompt to >

Change chipset, command set to adsl info --stats

Most of the telnet stats and Bits/Tone work except for Up/down connection rate and max rate - displays just 1 or 2 figures (John?)

I might download it again at some point then. It wasn't showing anything when I tried that last. I assume I did something wrong.

It was not straightforward I must admit,I missed "Tick Source A" on the Router text search first time and then the required figures which need highlighting for the graphs need a bit of digging out.
