Title: BT2700 Firmware (6.1.1.49-enh.tm-IKE)
Post by: Jamz on Aug 21, 2011, 13:12:15
Hi Guys,

I am after the latest firmware for the BT2700 Business Hub. I am having wireless issues with the current version (6.1.1.48.1-enh.tm), and after searching, the latest firmware seems to sort this out (6.1.1.49-enh.tm-IKE)

Anyone able to help?

Thanks

James

I'm not a 2wire user although we have a few members on the forum who are and you should hopefully get a response today.

Hi jamz and welcome. AFAIK there is nowhere to manually download v6 firmware for the 2700HGV. It's meant to update automatically but I think it now requires you to be on BT broadband!. This http://bt2700hgv.tripod.com/ir1002700HGV.htm is the best place for all things 2700.

Hi Guys,

Cheers for the welcome... Aye i've been through that Tripod site with a fine tooth comb. I am a BT Broadband customer, but I am a BT Home Broadband customer (not business)

I'm not sure it will auto update through Home Broadband though :( Getting a few errors, but the wireless dropping out and crashing the router is quite annoying (happens quite regular).

The router reckons I have the latest firmware (but searching Google and BT Business forums suggests there is new firmware to resolve the wireless drop out issue)

QuoteCurrent Version    6.1.1.48.1-enh.tm
Initial Software Version    6.1.1.48.1-enh.tm

James,
Have you thought about trying the Qwest firmware http://bt2700hgv.tripod.com/085.htm.
Beware though, it's a one-way route, since there's no published BT v6 firmwares out there to go back to.
I've no real experience with v6 I'm afraid, all my 2700's are v5 firmware ( and staying that way! ).
Alan(kinmel) has used v6, including the Qwest variant, so maybe he'll be along to advise further.

Aye spotted the Quest firmware when reading through the site, seemed like a few features would be lost though, but then again, is it a more stable firmware?

Not really bothered if it messes up, only paid like £7 for it.

They're going really cheap now, aren't they?  I managed to get one for £10 delivered (as a spare), a couple of months ago.

BT have moved to a new v3 of the business hub and the V2 we have is no longer being auto updated, BT seem to have no set criteria for providing customers with the 6.1.1.49.1-enh.tm-IKE fw, so it is unlikely to escape into the wild.

You can search out a V3 on Ebay and see if that solves your problems, otherwise it is a dead-end

Actually there is a way back to the BT firmware. You can download a beta BT firmware and install it. Be warned though: it's missing a few features so you will have to do a bit of work in Opera.
