Title: Tiscali blocking incoming idnet e-mails
Post by: teepi280 on Aug 14, 2011, 21:04:54
Hi,
A friend uses tiscali for his mail and although he can send mail to my idnet address, when I reply or send to him it never arrives.
I know it's not a problem with idnet but his tiscali 'help' is useless. If I send from a hotmail address it gets through no problem. Any advice I can give him, apart from ditching tiscali/pipex, (like I did!)?
Cheers
Tim.

:welc: :karma:

It sounds initially like a spam filter in operation.  I assume you've checked that the mails have been sent from your IDNet account, and are not stuck in an Outbox somewhere?

And, you're right, he should ditch TisPex and come here.  ;)

Hi and welcome to the forum. :welc: :karma: It sounds like Tiscali have blocked IDNet's mail servers, all he can do is ask them to unblock them.

I hope this is not a general trend. The reason I left my last ISP was that its mail servers were getting blocked by several ISPS and its IP addresses were getting blocked by a lot of websites, making it impossible to access several websites I had previously used without problems.
