Title: current time in router settings
Post by: krysia on Aug 11, 2011, 13:06:34
For some reason, my Billion router shows the time as one hour behind what it actually is, even though it's set to GMT with the automatic Summer Time box ticked.  When I change the setting to London, it now gets the time right (it didn't for a while, going an hour ahead), but then, when the router resyncs (which it's been doing a lot), it reverts back to the GMT setting and the wrong time.  What clock do routers sync with?

There's usually a setting in the router which lists the NTP server used, and often allows you to choose which one you want to use.

I use ntp1.npl.co.uk, ntp2.npl.co.uk, ntp0.pipex.net, ntp1.pipex.net and ntp2.pipex.net.

Thaks, Rik - I didn't realise it was okay to choose whichever ones I want.  For some reason, my default SNTP servers are carl.css.gov, india.colorado.ed, time.nist.gov, and time-b.nist.gov!

That doesn't surprise me, there is a tendency to use US servers.
