Criminals have increased the functionality of Android Trojans with a new strain that is capable of recording, and not just logging, conversations on compromised smartphones.

Just when you thought the NOTW scandal was over. ;D
;D
Maybe they wrote it.
;D
Another reason not to trust Android. They really do need to step up security on that platform.

You really need an antivirus on android phones, there are quite a few but its another battery/performance hit.
I am currently considering the SE Xperia mini running android 2.3 but if it's going to become a maintenance headache I may think twice.
I've had no problems with my phone OS wise, getting wet is a different matter.
I know you want to keep it clean but dunking it is a bit OTT ;D

The thing with SE is that they often (always?) run on older Android versions. I'm not sure if that's cautiousness over upgrades, or whether they just get stuck behind, but I've not been impressed with an SE since the K800i.

I would prefer to be up to date with security and features myself, also like you I would not touch a SE phone, now. My last one was a P910i, that was a great phone for its time.

The K800i rocked like Slash at a guitarists convention ;D
Great call quality and built like a tank, my favourite phone since me Ericsson S868.
Only reason I got rid was to make sure I could take advantage of 900 Mhz 3G when it launched.
I like the Nokia 6700 but time to update and acquire a bit more smartphone knowledge.
