After a week of abusive calls from someone I contacted idnet this morning to ask to change my number. I spoke to a lovely lady who said to put my request in email. Did that and have just received an email back from Brian giving me my new number and saying it should be effective from tomorrow.
How nice to deal with "real" people who sort things out sensitively and quickly. I am still shock up by the calls I've been getting, but at least Idnet made it easier. So thank you once again Idnet for a great service :)

They'll be grateful for that, Tina. :thumb:
Good news, Tina. Keep that new number to yourself! ;)
I certainly won't be as trusting of people in future :(
Very wise, sadly.
I have a free YAC (www.yac.com) number I use for people and organisations I don't trust.
It's an 070 number which can be directed to any landline I want and they pay quite a bit to ring it so it acts as a good deterrent.
Have it directed to my work phone which is engaged pretty much all the time I'm there and rings out when I'm not so they just get bored.
I have a similar system. Mine is a lot more simple though, I call it the "if you want to speak to me, give me your number" system. Then I'll phone them from my mobile with the number hidden ;D

That is a very good system - how do you with - hold a number on a mobile?
Most mobiles have that option within the settings, Tina. Alternatively, put 141 before the number you're calling.
One thing to bear in mind, though, it won't withhold your number from texts.
If you don't use SMS though you can have it switched off by the operator.
Thanks all - number now changed and I feel a lot safer :)
