Title: "Local Area Connection 2" doesn't have a valid IP configuration
Post by: zappaDPJ on Jun 15, 2011, 05:20:57
But what does it all mean? :stars:

I was uploading files via an FTP client and lost connection. Windows Network Diagnostic fixed the problem with this issue found: "Local Area Connection 2" doesn't have a valid IP configuration

It means nothing much to me (the valid IP part) and I've never seen it before. I assume it's a problem with my PC?

It sounds like it, Zap. Perhaps delete and 're-make' the connection?

Do you have more than one pc on the network? I find windows has a habit to set the IP automatially as 192.168.0.2 every time. So if you have two PCs they might both be trying to access as pc .2 instead of one as .2 and one as .3.

However, I know nothing when it comes to network protocol and IP addresses. :P

There was only one PC in use at the time. It's very odd.
